*The Redemptoristine Nuns*

The Redemptoristine Nuns were founded in Italy in 1731 by Sister Maria Celeste Crostarosa and Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, as an order of contemplative nuns, to follow the Redeeming Christ through a life of prayer and sacrifice. Since that time, foundations have been made throughout the world. In 1960, our monastry was founded in Liguori, Missouri.

Charism

As cloistered contemplative nuns, living a simple community life, we strive to become
"living memories" of Christ in His birth, death, and resurrection. Through our
apostolate of prayer, we pray in the name of the Church for all the people of God.

The mystery of Christ's Incarnation becomes alive in us as we:

* study Scripture and allow the Word to become embodied in our minds and hearts.
* live our vow of poverty in a culture of materialism.
* say to the Father, "Here I am Lord, I come to do your will."
* imitate the humility of Jesus.

We unite ourselves to the redeeming suffering and death of Christ by:

* patiently accepting the trials and sorrows of everyday life.
* forgiving those who hurt us and praying for those who are unable to forgive.
* fearlessly proclaiming and living the gospel values.

In celebrating the daily Eucharist with Christ our Redeemer, we:

* find the best way to express our faith, hope, and charity.
* like Jesus, we become living Eucharist to one another, for the Church and the world.
* receive strength, courage, hope, and consolations for our life's journey.

During our times of Eucharistic adoration and in private prayer before the tabernacle,
we pray for the countless petitions presented to us daily.

We have particular devotion to Mary as our Mother of Perpetual Help:

* through our weekly novena, we strive to deepen our devotion to Mary.
* bring to her the needs and thanksgiving of all her children.
* by our annual novena of Masses, we promote this devotion to others.
* on our shrine, we place the hundreds of petitions that are sent to us.
