To select text click the button at the top of the screen that has the letter "T" on it, then while holding down the control key, drag your mouse around the column or group of text you wish to select. Choose COPY from the EDIT menu and then PASTE the text into your word processing document.
To select graphics click on the same button as you did for text but hold it down until it expands so you can choose the graphic select tool. Click and drag a square around the art you wish to export, but before copying it to the clipboard, zoom the page to 200-400%. (This will give the image better resolution once it is placed in a new document.) Choose COPY from the EDIT menu and then PASTE the image into your word processing document.
